Protein Skimmer stuff

Hey all, I'm new to the salt water game. Just recently ordered a 75g tank, drilled with guts and about to build a cabinet for it.

For a sump, I'm thinking about grabbing a 40g tank and find a billet kit etc.. to silicone in. A couple friends are on here and said it wouldn't hurt to reach out for suggestions for this or preferably used equipment here, before I start that process.

Thus bringing me to the 'Protein Skimmer stuff' title. I've been told to stay away from cheapy models, might be a shot in the dark to find one here, used but hey here goes..
